- Story Text: About 60,000 people crowded into a square in the U.S.capital Washington D.C. on Monday (January 22) to protest against abortion.
Those who attended the peaceful rally came from all over the United States.
One placard read: "Abortion makes you the mother of a dead child".
A priest said that a child is a gift from God and that Americans had lost the appreciation of being fathers and mothers.
Abortion opponents have held rallies in the U.S. capital for the past 22 years to mark the anniversary of the high court decision known as Roe v. Wade which legalised abortion.
