- Story Text: Two Chinese workers were killed and a third injured on Tuesday (July 30) when a steel structure fell from bridge ramp construction site over the Han River in Seoul, the South Korean fire service said.
Emergency workers retrieved the bodies of the Chinese victims and took the injured survivor to hospital.
The dead were identified as 52-year-old Choi Chang-hee and 50-year-old Heo Dong-gil. The injured worker was identified as 59-year-old Chinese workers Kim Kyeong-tae, officials at Gangseo Fire Station said.
A 47-metre-long steel structure and a crane fell from the bridge ramp construction site at about 0400GMT on Tuesday, crushing the workers.
"The accident happened during a concrete placing process to extend the bridge at the construction site in the southern side of the Banghwa Bridge," said Lee Seung-il, an officer at Gangseo Fire Station.
