Turkish Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan said on Sunday (December 28) that the operation carried by Israel to Gaza strip is a crime against humanity.
Addressing members of his governing AK party in a meeting, Erdogan said usage of disproportionate power and killing defenceless people is unacceptable and an obstacle for the world piece.
"I want to state again that, attacking civilian homes, using disproportionate power and killing defenceless people, children, women is an unacceptable situation. I said also yesterday this operation is an obstacle to world peace, to international peace," said Erdogan.
The Turkish Prime Minister called Israel a conductor of crime against humanity and criticised the statement of the Israeli government saying that the operation would take long time.
"I have to say this, bombing these defenceless people and afterwards saying that this operation would take a long time is a crime against humanity, in my opinion" said Erdogan.
Israel's Prime Minister Ehud Olmert said in a statement on Saturday that the operation conducted to Gaza will take time.
Israel destroyed Hamas's main Gaza security complex in an air strike on Sunday and prepared for a possible invasion of the territory after killing more than 280 Palestinians in the first 24 hours of a powerful offensive. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
