- Story Text: "We love people ... just because they are human beings and we do not discriminate against anyone," said the Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan as he received the Gaddafi Award in Tripoli on Monday (November 29). The Turkish leader is in Libya as a guest at the 3rd European Union-Africa Summit.
Erdogan received the award from former Maltese Prime Minister Karmnu Mifsud Bonnici.
The Gaddafi Award is given out by the Gaddafi Humans Rights Award National Committee. It honours people who have made an outstanding contribution to human rights. Previous winners include Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez, Fidel Castro and Nelson Mandela. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
