- Story Text: Thousands of Eurovision fans gathered in front of large outdoor screens in Baku on Saturday (May 26) to watch the Eurovision 2012 song contest broadcast live.
Fans showed their support for the 57th Eurovision host by waving Azerbaijan flags and cheering.
Close to 16,000 were expected to attend the live show on Saturday night with more than 124 million television viewers tuning in across Europe.
Azerbaijan won the right to host the Eurovision song contest by winning last year's event in Germany and sees the annual event watched by millions of television viewers as a chance to showcase the country. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
