- Story Text: Justin Bieber is a big star. How big? Big enough that Hollywood's biggest box office star, Will Smith, garnered little attention from the screaming teenage girls who lined up around the block of the Nokia Theater on Tuesday night (February 8) for the premiere of the singer's new movie, "Justin Bieber: Never Say Never."
How Big? Big enough that it left anyone over the age of 30 wondering if "Bieber-fever" and the incessant non-stop screaming at the Los Angeles premiere was comparable to the decibel levels registered for Elvis and "Beatlemania" all those years ago? For his part, Bieber seemed to be equally amazed as to what was unfolding.
"I don't know, it's incredible," said Bieber, who arrived on time for the screening and spent lots of time with his fans. "The whole thing is all for me, it's incredible."
The movie is the true story and rare inside glimpse at the rise of Bieber from Canadian street performer in the small town of Stratford, Ontario to internet phenomenon, and then global superstar with a dream sold-out show at the famed Madison Square Garden. The film is in 3-D.
"They are going to see that I'm a regular 16-year-old, who is living my dream," said Bieber. "I want the movie to be a positive influence for others just to see that anything is possible and never give up on a dream."
So far reviews for the film have been favorable. But, even if they weren't, there's strong doubt as to whether it would have any impact on the teen idol's popularity.
"Justin touched my hand and I started crying," screamed Marcella Somara, of Los Angeles, California. "He's my idol and I love Justin."
"I love Justin Bieber," added Tabby Partridge, another love-struck fan, who traveled from Phoenix, Arizona for the chance to catch a glimpse of the teen idol.
For those staying closer to home, "Justin Bieber: Never Say Never" opens nationwide on Friday (February 11). - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
