- Story Text: The cast of "Ocean's 13" continued their world tour of promoting the new movie, hitting the red carpet outside the famed Grauman's Chinese Theater for the film's Hollywood premiere in Los Angeles, California on Tuesday (June 5).
Cast Members Brad Pitt, George Clooney, Matt Damon, and newcomers to the franchise Al Pacino and Ellen Barkin, walked the red carpet and reminisced about times on the set.
Clooney said Pacino's presence on set had been slightly unnerving at first.
"He is Al Pacino what do you do? He is one of the great movie stars, one of the great actors of all time, and he shows up and first day on the set we all go hey its Al Pacino we went to work it was really fun. But he makes it easy he doesn't except for we did have to kiss his hand a lot but before every take," Clooney told Reuters.
The red carpet as studded with Hollywood heavyweights but the fans went wild when Angelina Jolie in a black Versace dress joined her beau Pitt. Jolie told Reuters that she had spent her birthday the previous evening at home with Pitt and the kids. Earlier in the day cast members Pitt, Clooney, and Damon joined Hollywood royalty when they were immortalized in cement at the hand and footprint ceremony Grauman's Chinese Theater.
The foursome waved at the cheering, photo-snapping crowd as they arrived. They then knelt down and pressed their hands into the fresh cement. They also donated their cement-laden shoes, stylus and photographs from the event to the Hollywood Historic Trust, which will loan the items to the Hollywood Museum to be displayed.
The first "Ocean's" movie delighted audiences and raked in 450 million U.S. dollars (USD) at box offices worldwide. While some fans and critics were disappointed with "Twelve," it nevertheless reaped a sizeable 363 million (USD). "Ocean's Thirteen" sticks closely to the formula of the first two: a lot of laughs, some silly gags and a big heist. But there is a twist: the conmen are not in it for the money. The charity of Clooney, Pitt, Matt Damon, Don Cheadle, and producer Jerry Weintraub does not stop on the movie screen. They premiered the film at the Cannes Film Festival the world's largest film festival to raise money and awareness for refugees in the Darfur region of Sudan.
Four "Ocean's Thirteen" cast members -- Clooney, Pitt and fellow actors Don Cheadle and Matt Damon -- and producer Jerry Weintraub launched the Not On Our Watch Foundation to raise money and draw attention to the refugees in Darfur. They raised 10 million U.S. dollars at a Cannes party, and in June they head to Las Vegas and Chicago for similar charity events. "Ocean's 13," the third film in the highly successful franchise, opens in the United States on June 8. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
