So, Monsters vs Aliens is a lot of fun and the characters are great and it is very funny. I mean 24 can be very heavy and so are most of the films that I do. So this was time to have fun and I got to work with Reese who I worked with before and so I had an understanding what she would do with that voice. And it was just, it was a lot of fun." - Story Text: Hollywood stars Reese Witherspoon and Kiefer Sutherland made their way to Berlin on Monday (March 9) to attend the European premiere of Dreamwork's new animation movie 'Monsters vs Aliens' at the cinema Colosseum.
.
The two actors gave their voice to the fantasy characters in order to bring them to life. The movie tells the story of a young woman called Susan from California, who - on her wedding day - is hit by some 'outer space slime'. She soon after starts to grow and becomes 15 metres tall. The military jumps into action and arrests her in order to keep her locked up like a monster. But not for long, because aliens attack and the monsters get ready for a fight.
Also Dreamworks director Jeffrey Katzenberg came to Berlin for the premiere of the movie, which used a new 3D technology.
"Well, it is a good story. So, Monsters vs Aliens is a lot of fun and the characters are great and it is very funny. But then we have this amazing new 3D technology, which is sort of a complete re-invention of what people have ever seen before. And I think, when they see it, people will be blown away. It is whole new way to see a movie in a movie theatre", Katzenberg said.
Witherspoon's children were definitely blown away by the story and the animated actors.
"They love it. Because they hear my voice and they recognise my voice and they loved this movie, they loved Bob and they think the blue character is so funny and they just loved this movie. They are so happy they can take all their friends to see this movie", she said.
But not only for children, also the actors involved in the movie, seemed to have enjoyed the work. Sutherland took it as a welcome break from filming his usually slightly heavier movies.
"It was also a chance for me. I mean, 24 can be very heavy and so are most of the films that I do. So this was time to have fun and I got to work with reese who I worked with before and so I had an understanding what she would do with that voice. And it was just, it was a lot of fun", Sutherland explained. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
