- Story Text: The myth of Casanova lead the rush to the red carpet for its UK premiere on Monday (February 13).
The romantic flick stars Oscar nominated Heath Ledger as the legendary Casanova who seduces flocks of women. After being in trouble again, the womaniser is advised to get married.
He is set to get wed to the Venetian virgin Victoria, played by Natalie Dormer. In real life the young actress has a clear sense of what a real Casanova should be.
"Someone who knows exactly what women want, someone who can identify in every woman what she wants and give it to her, or appear to be able to give it to her," she told Reuters.
Casanova seems to be in control until he falls head over heels for a woman who finds him unworthy.
Sienna Miller plays the stunning Francesca Bruni, the spirited author of a feminist tract, who teaches Casanova about love. The 24 year old actually admires his legacy.
"I think people misinterpret what he was. I mean, he wasn't a player in the sense that I imagine people perceive him to be. He was actually a man who really loved and respected women and made them feel loved. So, I hope that there are Casanova's around, I am sure there are," Miller said.
The actress who is single again after splitting from actor Jude Law told Reuters how she's spending Valentines Day.
"I'm going on a girlie night bowling," Miller said.
Casanova is Miller's biggest film yet which will open in the UK on February 17. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
