It told you, I did not have to do the work. The hardest work an actor has to do is on projects that are poorly written. The easiest is when they are so well written that you fall in and let it soak inside you." (SOUNDBITE) (English) ACTRESS ANNA GUNN ON GETTING BACK TO WORK AFTER LONG BREAK, SAYING: "We had a long hiatus before this season. At first it felt like we had been away from this for essentially a year. It felt like this had a been a long time. But when we go back in there and getting our clothes on and doing our thing. We were right back in it. It was like being back with old family and re-establishing old relationships and we are off and running." (SOUNDBITE) (English) ACTOR BRYAN CRANSTON ON HIS CASTING FOR THE ROLE, SAYING: "AMC and Sony TV said rightfully so, 'Vince you want the goofy dad from 'Malcom in the Middle" to play Walter White, like no...timeout...no don't do that!' Thank God, he's my champion and he's made me wash his car every week for it. I was negligent this week, I did not get to it. Thank God he pushed for me because without him I would not be here right now." (SOUNDBITE) (English) "BREAKING BAD" WRITER/PRODUCER/DIRECTOR VINCE GILLIGAN, ON BRYAN CRANSTON, SAYING: "He's able to go to these dark places. I don't know where he pulls these experiences from, these inspirations, I don't know where he gets them. But, with the help of the scripts he gets them darker as we go. Bryan Cranston gets darker with every episode and its a surprise to me how he is able to pull that off."

- Story Text: The stars at Tuesday night's (June 28) special premiere screening for the fourth season of the Emmy Award winning television drama "Breaking Bad" were tight-lipped on where the series goes, other than to promise that it's going to get very dark.
Three-time Emmy winner Bryan Cranston, who plays chemistry teacher-turned-drug-kingpin, Walter White in the show, told Reuters that it's all in the script.
"Breaking Bad's" pilot script was genius," explained Cranston. "The best pilot script I had ever read. It told you, I did not have to do the work. The hardest work an actor has to do is on projects that are poorly written. The easiest is when they are so well written that you fall in and let it soak inside you."
The show follows the story of a desperate man who turns to a life of crime to secure his family's financial security.
Despite its long hiatus, Anna Gunn, who stars as wife Skyler White, said she had no trouble finding her character.
"At first it felt like we had been away from this for essentially a year," said Gunn.
"It felt like this had a been a long time. But when we go back in there and getting our clothes on and doing our thing. We were right back in it. It was like being back with old family and re-establishing old relationships and we are off and running," said Gunn.
"Breaking Bad's" creator, writer and producer Vince Gilligan believes fans will be surprised by where Walter White will take them this season.
"He's able to go to these dark places. I don't know where he pulls these experiences from, these inspirations, I don't know where he gets them. But, with the help of the scripts he gets them darker as we go. Bryan Cranston gets darker with every episode and its a surprise to me how he is able to pull that off," explained Gilligan.
The fourth season of "Breaking Bad" will debut on the AMC cable channel on Sunday, July 17. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
