- Story Text: Tobey Maguire, Kerry Washington and Ray Liotta were seen on the red carpet ahead of "The Details" premiere in Los Angeles on Monday (October 29). The film stars Maguire and Elizabeth Banks as a couple in a 10-year marriage who have a seemingly idyllic family life as a husband and wife with a son in the suburbs. But raccoons soon wreak havoc in their home's backyard, digging up and overturning mounds of grass.
"He starts acting out in destructive ways instead of resolving issues, which might seem more challenging to him at the time," said Maguire. "But he discovers, of course, that he's now created more problems for himself that he has to then go clean up because he doesn't want to lose everything he's worked for in terms of his family."
While Maguire's character is preoccupied with getting rid of the nocturnal nuisances, more serious issues like martial woes, infidelity and even murder threaten to uproot his life's serene facade.
"I think the fact that Tobey is playing the lead character and people really relate to him," said Washington, who plays Maguire's best friend in the film. "He's so likeable and accessible, that has a lot to do with it. I also think that people know what it's like to struggle with life and struggle with your marriage and struggle with your manhood. He's doing all of those things so beautifully in the film."
"The Details" is currently available 'on demand' as part of U.S. cable television services and will open in limited U.S. theaters on November 2. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
