  • Story Text: Sylvester Stallone, Mel Gibson, Arnold Schwarzenegger other castmembers of the upcoming action sequel "The Expendables 3" were on hand for the Los Angeles premiere of the film on Monday (August 11) evening.
    The third installment of "The Expendables" franchise features most of the original cast, with the exception of Bruce Willis, and brings on many new members, including Gibson and Wesley Snipes.

    "It's fun. That's all, it's just fun. That's all it's a chance to play in the sand box with a bunch of very old, adolescent guys who like to play with hand grenades," says Gibson, who joins the cast as Conrad Stonebanks, the film's villain.

    "It's nice to be at the party, you know. It's like a very unique and special party that only certain people get a chance to attend and how wonderful to be invited," says Wesley Snipes of his participation in the film.
    For the returning cast members, the best part of working on the film is the opportunity to work with a large crew of iconic actors.

    "We all have a great time doing the movie, even though it's hard work, from early morning to late at night, but it's wonderful to work with so many great, talented people and great entertainers but also great athletes," says Schwarzenegger, who reprises his role as Trench, the founding member of a rival group to the expendables.
    In this new installment, Barney Ross, played by Stallone, and the rest of the expendable team face off against Gibson's villainous Stonebanks, whose goal is to kill all the expendables.

    "The Expendables 3" hits theaters on August 15.
