- Story Text: United Nations Secretary General Kurt Waldhaim on Monday (September 17) hailed the impending entry of East and West Germany into the United Nations ??? a most encouraging break-through in East-West relations.
Speaking at a news conference on the eve of the opening of the 2???th General Assembly, the Secretary-General said he hoped to see the other divided nations of the world also settling their differences so they could take their place in the United Nations:
