  • Story Text: A time bomb damaged the headquarters of the Palestine Liberation Organisation (PLO) in Beirut on Sunday (8 October).

    The blast shattered windows in nearby buildings and injured a Palestinian guard at the headquarters.

    Some minutes earlier, a bomb had exploded at the Shatila refugee camp, on the main road to Beirut airport.

    There was speculation that the bombs were planted by Jewish terrorists conducting a campaign in retaliation for recent attacks by Palestinian guerrilla organisations.
