- Story Text: A bomb has destroyed an OSCE truck outside offices of international monitors in Serb-controlled Bosnia. No one was hurt in the blast.
The explosion occurred on Sunday evening (July 13) in the eastern town of Zvornik in Bosnia's Serb entity just days after North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO) soldiers swooped on two Serbs indicted by the United Nations(U.N.) war crimes tribunal in The Hague in the Netherlands.
The explosion happened about 30 metres (yards) from the building which houses both the U.N. and the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) in Zvornik.
International police force (IPTF) Deputy Station Commander Todor Todorov said he heard a very big explosion which destroyed the OSCE vehicle and several others.
Initial reports indicated that two to six kilogramme (four to 13 pounds) of plastic explosives were placed under the engine of the OSCE truck.
It was parked in front of the Hotel Drina, which serves as local headquarters for the U.N. and the OSCE. The hotel sits on a bluff overlooking the Drina River, which forms the border with Serbia.
British special forces in the northwest Prijedor region arrested one suspect last Thursday (July 10) and shot dead another who opened fire on soldiers trying to detain him.
