- Story Text: The Prime Minister of Mauritius, Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam, has been made a Grand Officer of the Legion D'Honneur. Sir Seewoosagur was presented with the honour on Wednesday (17th October) in Paris by the French Premier M. Pierre Messmer.
The Mauritius Foreign Minister, M. Gaetan Duval, was installed as a Commander of the order. After the ceremony, he said his country was ready to play a role towards the establishment of peace in the Middle East.
