  • Story Text:One day after Germany's Julia Taubitz won an emphatic Olympic gold in the women's luge singles, she told reporters on Wednesday (January 11) she was looking forward to the team relay.
    "I'm very proud to be competing for Germany,” said Taubitz.
    Also on Tuesday, Kira Weidle-Winkelmann and Emma Aicher took silver in the alpine skiing women's team combined 0.05 seconds behind Austria's Ariane Raedler and Katharina Huber who had won a surprise women's team combined Olympic gold.
    Germany’s Weidle-Winkelmann sang the praises of her teammate Emma Aicher, saying “even at her very young age, Emma is already a very, very good skier and the speed she brings to the table is just incredible.”
    "When you watch the videos, sometimes I think is it actually possible to be that fast?,” asked Weidle-Winkelmann.
