- Story Text: After Tottenham Hotspur sacked head coach Thomas Frank on Wednesday (February 11), the discussion turned to possible candidates to replace the Dane in North London.
Frank was sacked after just eight months in charge following a 2-1 loss at home to Newcastle United on Tuesday (February 10) which left Spurs hovering five points above the relegation zone.
One name being heavily linked to the opening is former Brighton boss Robero de Zerbi who abruptly left his role as Olympique de Marseille head coach in the early hours of Wednesday according to a club statement.
Crystal Palace's FA Cup-winning coach Oliver Glasner has also been tipped for a move across London after announcing last month he would not be extending his current contract which runs out at the end of the season.
Other Premier League managers including Bournemouth's Andoni Iraola and Fulham's Marco Silva have also been mentioned by the bookmakers with current Ferencvaros head coach and former Spurs striker Robbie Keane an option from further afield.
Five months out from a home World Cup, it is unlikely Mauricio Pochettino will leave the United States in the lurch but speculation in the British media suggests Spurs could appoint an interim - such as current assistant coach John Heitinga - to see out the current campaign with Pochettino returning to lead the Lilywhites next season.
