- Story Text:Muslims in Bosnia and Herzegovina welcomed the start of Ramadan on Wednesday (February 18) with prayers, traditional preparations and symbolic celebrations.
In the village of Vranduk, Efendi Ramiz Redzic led children in religious songs while residents prepared traditional round breads for the holy month.
Believers say fasting cleanses the body, and the practice reminds them of the suffering of the poor.
Ramadan in 2026 is expected to end on the evening of March 18 or March 19, depending on moon sighting.
