- Story Text:Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai announced a new project to bring subsea connectivity between India and U.S. on Wednesday (February 18).
Pichai also announced a $30 million Google.Org AI for Science Impact Challenge, which will support researchers globally as the company strives to become the leader in AI.
Pichai, who is in New Delhi for India's AI Impact Summit, met Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi earlier in the day.
Since the start of last year, Alphabet has gone from laggard to leader among the "Magnificent Seven" megacap companies and is now matched by only Nvidia, and Apple, among companies with market capitalizations of more than $4 trillion.
