- Story Text:French President Emmanuel Macron arrived in New Delhi on Wednesday (February 18) as part of his three-day visit to India.
Speaking to students at an event in the Indian capital, Macron emphasised the importance of a partnership between India and France, particularly amid the rise of Artificial Intelligence (AI).
"We really believe, both India and France, in an AI (that is) at the service of our humanity. Meaning, we are ready to put regulations," he said.
Macron noted the "unsustainable" race in AI development across the world, and said the two countries' "common approach makes much more sense".
The French president will participate in the AI Impact Summit being hosted by India in New Delhi.
