- Story Text: Many British newspapers on Friday (February 20) ran a photo of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor slumped in the back seat of his Range Rover on their front pages after he was released from police custody on Thursday (February 19) evening after being arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office over allegations he sent confidential government documents to Jeffrey Epstein.
The photo, taken by Reuters photographer Phil Noble, went viral when it was published late on Thursday. It shows the visibly shaken man once referred to as the "Playboy Prince" staring ahead as the car leaves Aylsham police station in Norfolk, England.
Mountbatten-Windsor, who turned 66 on Thursday, had been questioned all day by detectives from Thames Valley Police. Earlier this month, the police force said it was looking into allegations that he had passed documents to the late convicted sex offender while working as a trade envoy.
