- Story Text: A Nigerian court on Wednesday (February 25) adjourned until March 17 a hearing for the driver accused of causing a crash that killed two members of British boxer Anthony Joshua's team and injured the heavyweight champion.
Adeniyi Kayode, Joshua's driver, appeared at the Ogun State High Court in Sagamu, where his defence counsel Olalekan Abiodun said the adjournment was requested to allow the Director of Public Prosecutions more time to gather witnesses and evidence.
"The matter has been adjourned and for the DPP to be able to gather themselves, and it is as if the state has interest in this matter," Abiodun told reporters outside the courtroom, noting the sensitive nature of the case.
The defence counsel expressed hope for a swift resolution, saying: "We can't wait for this matter to be done away with on time."
The crash killed two members of Joshua's entourage and left the two-time world heavyweight champion injured.
