- Story Text: Nigeria's foreign minister called on Portuguese companies to invest in Nigeria during his visit to Portugal on Thursday (January 10).
"It is the view of Nigeria that Portugal and Nigeria should work more closely together to deepen bilateral relations, especially in the economic field where we believe some Portuguese companies are active in Nigeria but that a lot more Portuguese companies can still come to Nigeria and partake in the ongoing reforms in the country," Gbenga Ashiru said after meeting with Portuguese President Anibal Cavaco Silva.
"We have a transformational agenda going on in Nigeria in the agricultural sector, in the power sector, energy sector, oil and gas and we believe the Portuguese companies should move in and take advantage of the opportunities there," he added.
