President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said on Wednesday (February 25) that Russian claims that Kyiv was trying to obtain nuclear weapons was an attempt to pressure Ukraine.
He told a press conference that Ukraine "unfortunately" had no nuclear weapons and that the Russian claim came ahead of another anticipated trilateral meeting with representatives from Russia and the U.S. at the beginning of March.
While waiting for Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Stoere to arrive for their press conference, he also said that Ukraine was advised to repair the Druzhba oil pipeline but "it's not that fast."
Shipments of Russian oil to Hungary and Slovakia have been cut off since January 27, when Kyiv says a Russian strike hit pipeline equipment in Western Ukraine. Slovakia and Hungary say Ukraine is to blame for the prolonged outage.
