- Story Text: Turkish Islamist groups held protests in Ankara and Istanbul against the United States and Israel on Sunday (March 1), after they launched attacks on Iran.
The group in Istanbul held a banner with pictures of U.S. President Donald Trump, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Adolf Hitler. "Your tyranny, envied even by Hitler, will fall!" the banner read.
In Ankara, protesters gathered near the U.S. Consulate and chanted slogans against the United States and Israel. They stepped on pictures of Trump and Netanyahu, while holding up pictures of Ali Khamenei, Iran's supreme leader who was killed in strikes.
""We are here to avenge the martyr Ali Khamenei, to erase America and Israel from the face of the earth," said Seref Ertekin, a protester.
Earlier on Sunday, Israel launched a new wave of strikes on Tehran, saying it aimed to dominate the skies after killing Iran's supreme leader and leaving the Islamic Republic grappling to rebuild its leadership amid its biggest test in five decades.
