- Story Text: Passengers were left stranded at airports across India on Sunday (March 01) after airlines suspended flights due to airspace restrictions following escalating tensions between Iran, and the United States and Israel, disrupting travel to the Middle East and beyond.
Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei was killed on Saturday after the United States and Israel launched the most ambitious attack on Iranian targets in decades.
With no immediate clarity on when normal flight paths will reopen, thousands of travellers remain in limbo.
Air India has cancelled 10 flights scheduled for March 1, meanwhile IndiGo, India's largest airline by market share, cancelled more than a dozen flights.
The U.S. and Israeli military strikes across Iran have pushed the Middle East into a new and unpredictable conflict, with Iran launching retaliatory attacks against Israel and nearby Gulf Arab countries. - Copyright Holder: ANI (India)
