- Story Text: Day one of Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2026 opened on Monday (March 2) with a strong focus on next‑generation robotics and emerging AI technology.
AgiBot showcased its expanding humanoid robot line and its Europe President William Shi said that large‑scale manufacturing of humanoid robots is essential for meaningful AI progress.
Samsung showed just days after their Unpacked event the Galaxy S26 Ultra, featuring what it describes as the world’s first built‑in hardware privacy display for smartphones. The screen narrows the light path so content remains visible only from the front, fading into shadow from side angles to prevent “shoulder surfing.” The technology can be toggled instantly and configured per app or notification type.
Absent from Barcelona were Xpanceo founders, who were unable to travel due to the mass flight disruptions triggered by the recent missile and drone attacks in the Gulf region. Speaking remotely, co‑owner Roman Axelrod said that despite the attack they felt relatively safe.
His co‑founder Valentyn Volkov said the team continues working on their integrated smart contact lens wearable prototype despite the setback and added that the company hope to present it next year.
