- Story Text:India's left parties held demonstrations in New Delhi on Tuesday (March 03), condemning India's 'silence' on Iran crisis and protesting Israel and the U.S. attacks on Iran.
Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was killed on Saturday (February 28) after the United States and Israel launched one of the most ambitious attacks on Iranian targets in decades, triggering retaliatory strikes by Iran.
The government's timid response to Iran conflict amounted to a reversal of India's traditional support for sovereign nations, said India's left leader, Brinda Karat.
Meanwhile, Shi'ite Muslims in Bandipora town of Indian Kashmir marched holding Khamenei's posters, with groups of women chanting slogans against the U.S. and Israel.
The U.S. and Israeli military strikes across Iran have pushed the Middle East into a new and unpredictable conflict, with Iran launching retaliatory attacks against Israel and nearby Gulf Arab countries. - Copyright Holder: ANI (India)
