- Story Text: From tri‑fold phones to bionic limbs and AI‑powered pets, Mobile World Congress showcased some of the latest tech on Tuesday (March 3).
Among the most visited stands was Xiaomi where the company presented its Vision GT prototype car designed for the 'Gran Turismo' video game.
Visitors also tested Huawei’s MateBook Fold laptop and slipped on Qwen augmented‑reality AI glasses, whose product manager Hua Qui said it offers music playback, reminders, navigation and real‑time translation. Nearby, a live feed projected onto a phone showed the glasses augmented reality features.
One of the most talked‑about gadgets came from Imoochi: an AI‑enabled pet toy that reacts to touch, displays emotions and develops a personalised “personality”, according to company spokesperson Frank Casas.
In health tech, Axial Biotech demonstrated a robotic orthopaedic walking system designed to help stroke survivors to stand and walk again, which co‑founder Marc Serra said will have a cost up to 90 per cent lower than full-size exoskeletons.
