  • Story Text: More than 470 Chinese citizens have been evacuated since the conflict in Iran broke out, Mao Ning, a Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson told reporters on Wednesday (March 4).
    Attacks by the United States and Israel from Saturday (February 28) killed Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and prompted retaliatory Iranian strikes on Israel and other Gulf countries hosting U.S. military bases.
    Chinese Parliament spokesperson Lou Qinjian repeated China's call for an immediate ceasefire and urged respect for Iran's sovereignty.
