- Story Text: Germany's government said on Monday (March 2) it is working “around the clock" to support its nationals stranded in the Middle East following widespread travel disruptions, according to a spokesperson for the foreign ministry.
The foreign ministry estimates around 30,000 German tourists are stranded in the Gulf region and said it was preparing for all scenarios and wanted to focus primarily on groups in need of assistance.
The German government added it was in close contact with the travel industry.
