- Story Text:Shiite Muslims in India took to the streets on Friday (March 6) for the sixth day over the killing of Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, burning effigies of U.S. President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu while demanding action from Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Protesters across the country marched while holding posters of Khamenei and chanting slogans against the United States and Israel.
"They have wounded the entire Islamic world," said protester Mohommad Maqbool Muneer, referring to Trump, Netanyahu and their allies.
He added that efforts to damage the Muslim world would ultimately fail.
Another protester in New Delhi criticised Modi for not addressing the issue.
"We want to tell the prime minister of our country to at least break his silence once on Khamenei. Why are you sitting in Trump's lap? Why are you not breaking your silence?" he asked. - Copyright Holder: ANI (India)
