- Story Text: U.S. President Donald Trump, First Lady Melania Trump, Vice President JD Vance and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth attended on Saturday (March 7) at Dover Air Force Base in Delaware the dignified transfer for six U.S. Army service members killed in Kuwait.
The soldiers died on Sunday (March 1) when a drone slammed into a U.S. military facility in Port Shuaiba, Kuwait, the U.S. military said.
All six service members were assigned to the Des Moines, Iowa-based 103rd Sustainment Command.
The service members were identified as Major Jeffery R. O'Brien of Indianola, Iowa; Capt. Cody A. Khork of Winter Haven, Florida; Chief Warrant Officer 3 Robert M. Marzan of Sacramento, California; Sgt. 1st Class Nicole M. Amor of White Bear Lake, Minnesota; Sgt. 1st Class Noah L.Tietjens of Bellevue, Nebraska; and Sgt. Declan J. Coady of West Des Moines, Iowa.
The attack on Iran is the biggest U.S. military operation in the Middle East since the 2003 invasion of Iraq.
The U.S.-Israeli attacks have killed at least 1,332 Iranian civilians and wounded thousands, according to Iran's U.N. ambassador, Amir Saeid Iravani.
