- Story Text: Kathmandu residents queued with empty liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) cylinders at a depot on Thursday (March 12) as the impact of the U.S.-Israeli war with Iran widens.
Nepali media reported that the state-owned oil monopoly Nepal Oil Company had instructed bottling plants to sell half-filled cylinders to consumers to conserve stores.
The Middle East is a key fuel-supplying region of gas and the supply squeeze follows an effective halt to shipping traffic through the Strait of Hormuz and the Gulf as a result of the Iran war.
