- Story Text: Iranians arriving in Turkey on Thursday (March 12) were hopeful to return to their home country despite the war raging on.
Anahita, an Iranian woman from Tabriz, said life was continuing normally despite sounds of blasts, while Mercan, who is from Tehran, said there were constant sounds of explosions. "There are a lot of problems there. All the time, boom, boom, boom," she said.
The United States and Iran have signalled no quick end to their war, with U.S. President Donald Trump saying it was necessary to finish the job and Iran warning that the world should be ready for oil at $200 a barrel after striking tankers in Iraqi waters and other ships near the vital Strait of Hormuz.
