  • Story Text: Chile's President-elect Jose Antonio Kast held a series of bilateral meetings with international leaders in Santiago on Tuesday (March 10) ahead of the presidential handover scheduled for Wednesday (March 11).
    Spain's King Felipe VI arrived at Palacio Cousino for a protocol greeting and a meeting with Kast. The president-elect also met with the OAS Secretary General, Albert Ramdin, and the Costa Rican President, Rodrigo Chaves. The meetings formed part of his diplomatic agenda before formally taking office at the National Congress in Valparaiso. 
    Officials at La Moneda, the Chilean presidential palace, removed on Monday (March 9) portraits featuring the official image of outgoing President Gabriel Boric, ahead of the transfer of power.
