- Story Text: Singapore's DBS Bank said on Thursday (March 19) that its digital services have returned to normal as of 1:19 p.m. (0519 GMT) after customers had problems gaining access from around noon.
"We appreciate your patience and are sorry for the inconvenience caused," the lender said in a Facebook update. The bank earlier said that customer monies and deposits remain safe.
Thousands of reports surfaced on outage tracker Downdetector that customers were facing difficulties when accessing DBS's mobile banking services and making fund transfers.
After a spate of service disruptions in 2023, Singapore's central bank applied a multiplier of 1.8 times DBS Bank's risk weighted assets for operational risk. It also paused non-essential activities at the lender, including information technology changes and the acquisition of new business ventures.
