- Story Text: Fans of BTS crowded a comeback pop-up store in Seoul on Friday (March 20), lining up to buy merchandise and to get an early look at content released for the group’s new album “Arirang.”
The venue featured displays of all seven members, album artwork and themed installations, as visitors browsed racks of clothing and filled shopping bags with copies of the new album. Some fans also explored behind-the-scenes images and concept visuals connected to the release.
Outside, crowds gathered around electronic displays, counting down to the release of a new music video.
Many described the group’s latest sound as more mature and closer to its roots. “I feel like this music is more like R&B style, more mature, which fits for their group now,” one fan said.
International visitors were also among the crowd, highlighting BTS’s global reach.
“We’ve waited for almost four years, so I’m glad to see a lot of people in town for them,” said Iolly Aguiar, a 35-year-old fan from Switzerland, while another fan from France praised the emotional tone of the new video and the reunion of all seven members on screen.
The Kpop group's highly anticipated free comeback concert is expected to draw up to 260,000 spectators, including 22,000 ticket holders, making it one of the area's largest public gatherings since the 2002 World Cup, officials have said.
The one-hour event, to be streamed live to 190 countries in Netflix's first global broadcast of a music concert, marks the release of the supergroup's first new album in more than three years, and the start of a global tour in April.
