- Story Text:Jewish community members said on Monday (March 23) they were saddened but "not shocked" by an overnight arson attack on four community ambulances in north London.
"To the community this morning, this isn't a surprise," said 22-year-old local resident, Dov Forman.
"Many of us knew that after the Manchester Heaton Park terrorist attack, that terror would come to our doorstep. So it was never a question of if, but when," he added.
British police said on Monday an attack on Jewish community ambulances in north London was not being treated as a terrorist incident but the investigation would be led by counterterrorism officers.
"While this has not been declared a terrorist incident at this stage, the investigation is now being led by counterterrorism policing, with all the specialist expertise they bring and all lines of inquiry remain open," Detective Chief Superintendent Luke Williams said.
He added that while they were aware of an online claim from a group taking responsibility for the attack, they needed to establish its authenticity and said: "it is not something we can confirm at this point".
