- Story Text:Muslim volunteers in the Indian Kashmir cities of Budgam and Srinagar raised funds on Monday (March 23) to support Iran in its conflict with the United States and Israel.
The volunteers sat outside an Imambara fund collection centre as people raised funds to show their solidarity with Iran.
They collected and donated gold, silver, copper, and cash to send to Iran.
The funds, donated by individuals and charitable trusts in Kashmir, are being handed over to the Iranian embassy in India, which has said it received messages of support and offers of donations from various individuals and groups, including Shia Muslims in Kashmir.
More than 2,000 people have been killed in the war the U.S. and Israel launched on February 28, which has upended markets, driven up fuel costs, accelerated global inflation fears and convulsed the Western defence alliance.
