  • Story Text:       Palestinian and Israeli mothers walked side by side through Rome on Tuesday (March 24), calling for an end to violence and greater protection for children affected by the Israeli‑Palestinian conflict.
           Hundreds of participants joined the "Barefoot Walk: Mothers' Call for Peace", led by Nobel Peace Prize nominees Reem Al‑Hajajreh and Yael Admi, crossing the city centre from the Ara Pacis to the Pincio Terrace.
       The initiative was supported by Rome's city administration and aimed to deliver a message that all children deserve security, dignity and a future free from fear.
        The symbolic barefoot march was accompanied by a choral performance in Piazza del Popolo, where the activists also took the stage to reiterate their demands.
        Al‑Hajajreh and Admi said they would meet Pope Leo on Wednesday (March 25) as part of their Rome visit.
