The remains of a 26-year-old migrant worker, Ravi Gopal, were returned to India on Wednesday (March 25) after he was killed in a missile strike in Riyadh the previous week.
Gopal had moved to Saudi Arabia in September 2025 to work at a plastic factory, where the missile reportedly struck, according to ANI.
His family urged the Indian government for financial assistance and increased support for Indian workers facing risks in conflict areas abroad.
The nearly month-long U.S.-Israeli war on Iran has sparked large-scale Iranian retaliation in the form of drone and missile strikes on energy and civilian infrastructure in Gulf countries, killing civilians and driving up oil prices.
