- Story Text: French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot met on Thursday (March 26) his Indian counterpart Subrahmanyam Jaishankar at an abbey near Paris on the sidelines of a summit of G7 foreign ministers.
The meeting in the 12th-century Vaux-de-Cernay Abbey will bring together ministers from the G7 – Britain, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan and the U.S. – alongside the European Union.
World leaders have spent the past year scrambling to respond to abrupt U.S. policy shifts, from tariffs to Ukraine, and now the Middle East conflict, which European diplomats and officials say lacks clear objectives or an exit strategy.
The G7 leaders' summit hosted by France in Evian-les-Bains in June will also include the leader of India, as well as those of South Korea, Brazil and Kenya, the French presidency said on Thursday.
