- Story Text: Several people were dead and scores were injured in a stampede at a temple in India's eastern Bihar state on Tuesday (March 31).
The incident occurred at the Hindu Goddess Sheetla temple, where hundreds of devotees, especially women, gathered to offer prayers on an auspicious Tuesday, as per the Hindu calendar.
Local media reported that at least eight people had died and several were injured in the incident.
Dozens of people were killed in a pre-dawn stampede at the Maha Kumbh Mela in northern India in January 2025 as tens of millions of Hindus gathered to take a dip in sacred river waters on the most auspicious day of a six-week festival. - Copyright Holder: ANI (India)
