- Story Text: Drone footage showed there was extensive damage on one foreign owned storage facility, west of Iraq's Basra City, on Saturday (April 4) from an Iranian strike that sparked a fire, security sources told Reuters.
The Burjisiya Logistics Complex is a key industrial and oil-related area in southern Iraq and a hub for international oil companies operating in the vast Rumaila oil field region.
There were separate reports of Iranian drones hitting Iraq's Rumaila north oilfield on Saturday, according to security and energy sources.
Nearly five weeks after it started with a joint U.S.-Israeli aerial assault, the war in Iran continues to spread chaos across the region and roil financial markets, raising the pressure on U.S. President Donald Trump to find a quick resolution to the conflict.
Fuel shortages have already caused economic strains across Asia and are expected to bite in Europe soon.
The Iran war has killed thousands, sparked an energy crisis and threatened lasting damage to the global economy since the initial strikes that killed Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
