  • Story Text: Times Square was the setting for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNWRA) #LetUsThrough initiative on Thursday (March 20).
    Supporters gathered in front of a video screen that showed Palestinians lining up for food-aid in Damascus and held up Syrian pita bread.
    The event was part of a global call for an immediate ceasefire and lifting of the sieges of civilian areas in Syria. In addition to supporting Palestinian refugees who have been living in Syria and who have now been made refugees again.
    According to the UN roughly 10 million people, including 5 million children, are in need of assistance in Syria.
    The campaign is also backed by over 30 celebrities including director Alfonso Cuar�, Sting and his wife Trudie Styler, singer Annie Lennox, and actress Emma Thompson.
