    The Indian government says several thousand Tamil refugees have fled Sri Lanka since June 10, with hundreds more arriving in southern India each day. The latest exodus from Sri Lanka's northern Jaffna Peninsula, where government troops have regained control after two years of Tamil separatist rule, have brought the number of Tamils at the Mandapam refugee camp, near Rameshwaran in Tamil Nadu, to more than 10,000. Indian authorities at the camp have been teaching the refugees basic craft skills, so they can earn a living while awaiting a possible return to their homes on the Jaffna Peninsula. Youths are taught carpentry skills, while girls learn embroidery, sewing and designing clothes. Refugees at the camp, now filled to capacity, receive food, clothing and other relief supplies free. Several other camps have been set up in Tamil Nadu, housing an estimated 200,000 Tamil refugees.
