- Story Text: Hundreds of Bosnian Serb refugees have fled Kljuc in south-west Bosnia in an attempt to escape the joint Croat and Bosnian Government offensive.
Bosnian army Fifth Corps forces pushing south and east out of Bihac took Kulen Vakuf and Bosanski Petrovac, followed on Friday night (September 15) by the capture of Kljuc, just 65 km (37 miles) northeast of Jajce.
Kljuc residents, packed onto tractors, cars and trucks, hurriedly fled the town which has been shelled by Croat forces during the last week, Bosnian Serb army sources said.
The allied advance against minimal Serb resistance has left Serb forces reeling and seen a stampede of tens of thousands of refugees towards the northern Serb stronghold of Banja Luka.
Combined Moslem-Croat forces took the town of Drvar, south of Bosanski Pertovac on Friday (September 15) as their advance through western Bosnia continued.
They had effectively controlled the town for weeks from the surrounding hills.
The Croatian forces also reached the entrance of the famous "Tito's cave", which was the main command post for all the military actions undertaken by Tito's partisans in the area in the winter and spring of 1944.
Croat forces would not immediately enter the cave for fear of mines set by retreating Serb forces. It is believed the Serb forces used the cave during the recent battle for the town.
