- Story Text: Forty United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) trucks carrying humanitarian aid for Serbian Krajina refugees left the Russian Emergency Ministry's base near Moscow on Wednesday (August 16) morning.
The cargo contained canned food, baby food and sacks of flour.
The convoy will arrive in Belgrade on Sunday.
Deputy Minister of Emergencies, General Valery Vostrotin, said this shipment of 150 tonnes (tons) of food was the second stage in the aid operation.
He said the first humanitarian aid shipment was flown to Yugoslavia by three cargo planes last Saturday and that the third shipment would be delivered by train.
Last week Russian President Boris Yeltsin, speaking after a meeting with Serbian President Slobodan Milosevic, called on the international community to lift sanctions against Belgrade and later ordered substantial humanitarian aid to be sent to Serbia to help Krajina refugees.
